The lost vehicle protocol at First Colony Mall is that when a person calls about a lost or stolen vehicle, we will get a description of the car so we can start looking on camera. We also have a mobile unit pick up the owner and go looking for the car. We will often use a key fob to listen for the beep of the alarm. If the car is found to have been stolen, we will call SLPD.
The towing protocol at First Colony Mall is that the overnight officer will ticket each vehicle that is left on property after 2am. Once a third ticket is placed on a car it is considered as abandoned. At that time, the security director contacts the General Manager to authorize a tow by a selected tow company. There are signs posted at various places on the property. If a vehicle is used in a crime such as shoplifting Sugar Land PD may request that car to be towed by the city contractor.
